Join host Jimmy Kimmel in celebrating ten years of 826LA inspiring students to write at TELL ME A STORY on June 16, 2015. 826LA is all about creativity, and in that tradition, creative people--writers, musicians, comedians, and other special guests, including our young authors--will take to the stage to show the power of the written word. Produced with Letters Live, this dinner event will feature readings from the acclaimed book Letters of Note by Shaun Usher, which contains missives from the likes of Kurt Vonnegut, Queen Elizabeth II, Groucho Marx, and a ten-year old Fidel Castro.
This special event not only celebrates the successes of our first ten years; we are also paving the way for the future of 826LA and its students. All of 826LA's programs are offered for free, breaking down barriers for low-income families. By raising crucial funds, TELL ME A STORY will help keep 826LA's programs free and accessible to the students who need them most.
